Message The reason for failure is not fatigue, it's improper installation of the timing belt. There is a specific tension that must be on the belt when cold. As the engine warms up, it expands slightly, putting additional stress on the belt and idlers. Once the automagic tensioner is maxed out, it's game over.

The belt won't stretch.
